A Future Down Below

One in a series of ommissioned artworks for a project that dealt with human adaption to an everchanging environment and its impact on the ocean, lead by Hannah Marlen Luebker. It is meant to be partially scientific and plausible, but also with a big dose of science fiction in it, to allow for more creative freedom.

This one showcases deep-water colonisation and exploration and the possible impact the long time stay at such depths and so far away from sunlight has on the human physique.

Hope you like it :)

Earlier sketch. Due to time constraints, only few iterations were possible. The decision was made to brighten up the artwork significantly (the deep is actually very, very dark), otherwise we would run into issues when the artwork was being printed.
